Discipleship

Scripture: Matthew 28:16-20
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus
had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some
doubted. 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto
me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Learning From Jesus #8 – A House of Prayer for All

Mark 11:15-19
“19 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out
those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables
of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 16 And he would
not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching
them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of
prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief
priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they
feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. 19 And when
evening came they went out of the city.”

Learning from Jesus #7 – Let the Little ChildrenCome to Me

Matt 19:13-15
“Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them
and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little
children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the
kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.”

Learning From Jesus #6 -“Real Friendship”

Scripture: Matthew 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord![e] This shall never happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance[f] to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
